Frequently asked questions
Is my document uploaded?
No. The document is read and laid out by your browser, and the PDF is made by your browser’s built-in PDF printer. It never leaves your device.
Why does it use the print dialog?
Your browser’s PDF printer produces real PDFs with selectable, searchable text and sharp fonts – better than tools that turn each page into a picture. Choose “Save as PDF” (or “Microsoft Print to PDF” on Windows) as the destination.
How do I save as PDF on a phone?
On Android, choose “Save as PDF” at the top of the print screen and tap the PDF button. On iPhone and iPad, tap the Share button on the print screen and choose “Save to Files”.
Will it look exactly like Word?
Close – headings, fonts, tables, images, lists, headers and footers are kept, and pages break where Word last placed them. Fonts you don’t have installed are replaced with similar ones, and charts, SmartArt and text boxes may differ slightly.
Can I convert old .doc files?
Not directly – the old binary .doc format can’t be read in a browser. Open it in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice, save it as .docx, then convert it here.
Why is there an extra blank page or a page split differently?
Documents saved by Google Docs or other apps may not store Word’s page breaks, so long pages flow onto an extra sheet. Opening and saving the file once in Word usually fixes this.
