Tips for a clean PDF from Excel

  • Remove helper columns first. Hidden and helper columns are included as data – delete them or copy just the range you need and paste it here.
  • Use landscape for wide sheets. Automatic orientation switches to landscape when a sheet has more than six columns.
  • Keep the text readable. If “Fit to page width” makes the text too small, choose “Continue on extra pages” or a larger paper size such as A3.
  • Format numbers in Excel. The PDF shows values exactly as Excel displays them, so set currency, decimals and dates before converting.

Which file types are supported?

Excel workbooks (.xlsx, .xlsm and older .xls), OpenDocument spreadsheets (.ods) and CSV or TSV text files, up to 30 MB. You can also paste cells copied from Excel or Google Sheets.

Can I convert only some sheets?

Yes. Each sheet appears as a tab with a tick box – untick the sheets you don’t want. Each included sheet starts on a new page and can have its name as a title.

What happens to tables that are too wide for the page?

Choose “Fit to page width” to shrink and wrap the columns so they fit, or “Continue on extra pages” to keep the text size and carry the extra columns onto following pages. Landscape orientation is picked automatically for sheets with many columns.

Are formulas, formatting and charts kept?

The PDF shows each cell’s value as Excel displays it – including number, currency and date formats – and keeps merged cells. Cell colours, fonts, images and charts aren’t copied; the PDF uses a clean table style instead.

Why does the rupee sign show as “Rs.”?

The standard PDF fonts don’t include the ₹ symbol, so it would appear as a blank box. The converter writes “Rs.” instead – untick the option if you prefer to keep the symbol.

Does it work with Hindi, Chinese or Arabic text?

Not reliably. The built-in PDF fonts only cover Latin letters, so other scripts may appear garbled. The converter warns you when your sheet contains such characters.
