How to rotate PDF pages
- Open your PDFDrop a PDF onto the page or click to choose it. Thumbnails of every page appear.
- Rotate the pagesUse the arrows under any page, or select pages (all, odd, even or landscape) and rotate them together. Auto-fix turns sideways text pages upright.

Rotate view vs rotate the file
Most PDF viewers have a “rotate view” button, but that only lasts until you close the file. This tool saves the new orientation into the PDF itself, so it opens the right way for anyone you send it to – and prints correctly too.
Frequently asked questions
Does rotating reduce PDF quality?
No. Rotation just changes the page’s orientation setting – the text, images and fonts aren’t re-encoded, so quality and file size stay the same.
Can I rotate just one page?
Yes. Use the ↺ and ↻ buttons under any page. To rotate several pages, click them to select them and use the buttons at the top.
How does auto-fix work?
It reads the direction of the text on each page. If most of a page’s text runs sideways or upside down, the page is turned upright. Scanned pages without a text layer can’t be detected – rotate those by hand.
Is the rotation permanent?
Yes. The saved PDF opens rotated in every PDF reader, unlike the temporary “rotate view” in most viewers.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser, so it’s safe for private documents.
Can I rotate a password-protected PDF?
Remove the password first with our PDF Password Remover (you’ll need to know it), then rotate the unlocked copy.
