Ideas for a full-screen clock
- Bedside clock: choose the amber or LED look, lower the brightness to 30–40% and keep the screen on.
- Classroom or exam hall: project the clock in fullscreen with seconds, so everyone can see exactly how much time is left.
- Live streams and presentations: the large digits stay readable on camera; the analog view suits a calmer look.
- Remote teams: add your colleagues’ cities under World clocks to see at a glance whether they’re at work or asleep.
12-hour or 24-hour?
The clock starts in the format your device uses – 12-hour with AM and PM in countries such as India and the United States, 24-hour in most of Europe. You can switch at any time. In the 24-hour format, midnight is 00:00 and noon is 12:00; in the 12-hour format, midnight is 12:00 AM and noon is 12:00 PM.
Frequently asked questions
How accurate is this online clock?
It shows your device’s clock, which is usually synchronised with internet time servers. Press “Check accuracy” to compare it with our server’s clock – the result is accurate to about a second.
How do I make the clock fullscreen?
Press Fullscreen, double-click the clock, or press F on your keyboard. Press Esc or F again to leave fullscreen.
Can I use it as a bedside or desk clock?
Yes. Go fullscreen, lower the brightness slider, choose a darker look such as LED or amber, and tick “Keep the screen on” so your device doesn’t go to sleep.
Will the alarm ring if the tab is in the background?
Yes, as long as the tab stays open. The alarm sound is scheduled in advance, so it plays on time even in a background tab. Closing the tab, or a phone locking its screen, can stop it – alarms aren’t saved when you leave the page.
How do I see the time in another country?
Type a city or time zone such as London, Dubai or America/Chicago into World clocks and press Add. Each clock shows whether it’s today, tomorrow or yesterday there and the difference from your time.
What do Day, Week and Unix mean under the clock?
Day is the day of the year, Week is the ISO 8601 week number, and Unix is the number of seconds since 1 January 1970 UTC – useful for developers.
Why is my time zone shown as UTC+5:30?
That’s your offset from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). India Standard Time is 5 hours 30 minutes ahead of UTC. The offset updates automatically when daylight saving time starts or ends.
Is the digital clock free?
Yes, completely free with no sign-up. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is saved.
