Frequently asked questions

How do I add a border to a photo?

Add your photo, choose Simple, then set the border width and colour. The border is sized as a percentage of the photo, so it looks the same on small and large images.

How do I post a full photo on Instagram without cropping?

Choose the “Instagram square” preset. It pads your photo to a 1:1 square with a blurred copy of itself behind it. Pick 4:5 for portrait posts or 9:16 for stories, or switch the background to a solid colour.

How do I make a Polaroid-style photo?

Choose the Polaroid preset, which adds a thicker strip at the bottom. Type a caption to write it in the strip in a handwritten style.

How do I round the corners of an image?

Increase Corner radius. Tick “Round the outer edge” to round the whole picture; save as PNG or WebP so the corners stay transparent – JPG fills them with white.

What is a mat?

A mat is the inner border between the photo and the frame, like the card mount in a picture frame. Use it with a dark outer border for a classic gallery look.

Will my photo lose quality?

No. The preview is scaled for speed, but the download is made at your photo’s full resolution. PNG is lossless; JPG and WebP let you choose the quality.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser.

Is the border tool free?

Yes, completely free with no sign-up and no watermark.
